Q: How do you euthanize your feeder animals? A: We use Carbon dioxide (CO2), as recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association panel on euthanasia, as the agent to euthanize our feeder animals. CO2 not only ensures a humane, quick and painless death for the animals but also ensures that no harmful residual chemicals remain that may harm the animal ingesting the prey item.
Got that from rodentpro FAQ

the majority of people over here (uk) that i talk to usually euthanize their own feeder rodents. just works out cheaper if you have 1 breeding pair (or more depending on amount of reps u keep) and then use the offspring as your feeders.

ok this is the method that alot of people use and have the best results with. www.alysion.org/euthanasia/added tips: 1) rather than just make a hole for the exiting oxygen add another hose at the highest point of the jug/jar and then put the end of this hose in a bucket of water. This allows air to escape but not to get back in. But make sure you have the bucket in the right place otherwise it could lead to water rushing into the chamber. 2) Dont open the lid and stick ur head over the jar/jug to see if the rodent has died as you will be knocked out cold by the co2. As funny as this sounds (and looks when u see it happen LOL) it could lead to the animal waking back up but with severe brain damage if you didnt leave it long enough. Hope you get some good results. Let me know

also i forgot to add that when your sure the rodent has died, open the chamber out side. You really dont want a rush of co2 in your house as it will sink to the floor and knock out all your cats and dogs hehe
