I got so tired of seeing Gypsy's house looking so blah with just newspaper and her water bowl.
So I cleaned out her house and changed the substrate to timothy hay a nice piece of wood near her water dish/bath to see what she would do.
At first she just stared at everything and then tongue flicked her new enviroment. After a bit she went all over the place and settled onto her new wood branch. She really loved the change.
Here's a few shots of her new home.
I guess the next house change will have to be a larger home with more branch's.
Has any one ever used timothy hay for a substrate for ball pythons?

Never heard of it for snakes ,probably due to the high amount of dust levels in the substrate has been used for years in tortoise cages, and on some herbivore lizards so I dont see a huge problem, but keep an eye out for respiratory irritations from it. Cyrpess mulch is also a excellent choice, is cheap, safe and looks good. You can get 2 cubic foot. bags at your local ace hardware, on special order for $3.29 a bag. By the way hows the 06 balls doing.? Thanks. j&j reptiles
